Join a guided walking tour through the historic city of Tavira, where legends, culture, and history come together at every turn.
Discover Tavira Castle, the Palácio da Galeria, Phoenician ruins dating back more than 8,000 years, the former Moorish quarter, and the iconic Roman Bridge. Learn why Tavira, with its more than 20 churches, is often referred to as the "Rome of the Algarve."
The route also includes the Church of São Paulo, the former Municipal Market — where participants will learn about the Mediterranean Diet and its cultural significance — and the Casa do Fado, offering further insight into the traditions that shape the city’s identity.
With storytelling woven into every stop, this tour is a journey through more than 8,000 years of heritage, bringing to life the people, events, and legends that have made Tavira one of the Algarve’s most captivating destinations.
Free admission. Limited capacity. Advance registration required.
